Hi! I totally understand about the Tylenol thing! I took it during pregnancy and it did not touch my headaches when they were really bad. My suggestion (if your doctor says it is ok) is to take 3 Tylenol (rather than the usual 2 in a dose). I also recommend ice. Lay down in a dark room and put ice on whichever part of your head hurts the most or at least a cool washcloth if ice is too cold for you. The cold shrinks the blood vessels. Also, at night I would suggest taking 2 benadryl (again if the doctor says it is ok for you and baby) and then it will help you to fall asleep despite the pain. Was just reading some good stuff about headaches online, take a look at this site & hope you find some relief:

Here's my secret. I dunno why it works but it does. SLice a lime and rub the juice on your forehead. It always works for my migrains. Make sure to get the juice over your temples. Its miraculous and absolutely wont hurt baby.

I had terrible headaches throughout my first pregnancy and a friend suggested I try reflexology, (I thought it would be a load of cr*ap) but it was amazing, you really should give it a go.
I hope you feel better soon.

Now that your in the 2nd trimester the baby can handle meds it originally couldnt. If you absolutely have to you can take tylenol, but only the recommended dosage. Also, if you turn out all the lights and climb into bed with a cool pack on the back of your neck it would help it some. it does with me. ***** we cant take exedrin.

Migraine Treatments During Pregnancy

Most of the medications that are used to treat migraine are not safe to take during pregnancy. If you are having frequent or severe migraines you may want to talk to your doctor about getting you a referral to see a neurologist.

Take a cold shower. The cold temperature will help to shrink dilated blood vessels.

Use an ice pack or cold compress. You can put it on the back of your neck or on your forehead to help constrict the blood vessels.

Lay in dark room. Many people are sensitive to lights during a migraine. Staying in a darkened room will help.

Sleep. Sometimes sleep is the only way to get rid of a migraine. If you have a really painful migraine it may be difficult to sleep but laying down and resting will help.

Massage your temples or sinuses. Sometimes massaging your temple or your nasal bridge may relieve help relieve pain.

Get a good night's sleep. Fatigue or not sleeping can sometimes trigger a migraine. Make sure you are well rested.

Avoid caffeine. Caffeine is not recommended during pregnancy and may trigger a migraine in some women.

Consult your doctor about what medications are safe to take during pregnancy or for other treatment options.
