Can my gynecologist give me a prescription for migraine pills?

Hello, I have an appointment with my OB/GYN on Wed, I need to go see him urgently, but besides that I have a migraine problem and I want to know if I can talk to him about that too and if he can give me a prescription for that too, just so I don’t have to pay extra to see another doctor?

    I would definitely ask.

Definitely bring it up. I had hormone triggered migraines and a certain type of birth control pill (Loestrin 24 FE) helped decrease them. But otherwise he’ll probably just refer you to a general doctor. Gynecologists don’t like to treat outside their specialty.

Yes talk with him about your migraines – some are hormone induced – and he may be able to give you Imitrex if you have not tried it –

My wife gets prescriptions for migraine medications from her OBGYN. I think it just depends on if they want to or not.
