Demi asked:
My daughter may be suffering from migraines headaches. I dont want to give her too much acetaminophen and ibuporfen. Any other effective treatment or things I should be avoiding so this dont get out of control.

The first step is to determine the CAUSE of the headaches, not to just treat the symptoms. Most frequently, migraines are caused by undiagnosed food allergies. Some foods may not cause an issue until 3 days after they have been consumed, which is why it is often hard to track down the source. The most common allergens are wheat, soy, corn, commercial dairy, eggs, peanuts, treenuts, and seafood. Try keeping a very detailed food journal for a few weeks, writing down EVERYTHING that she eats or drinks, including gum, mints, candy, toothpaste, etc. Very often, the food colorings, preservatives, chemicals and MSG in processed foods are the issue. You will likely see a pattern as to what brings on her headaches. In the meantime, get some OLBAS oil from your local health food store. It is an aromatic oil that has a cooling sensation when applied to the base of the neck. Don’t use ice or heat directly on the headache, as that just draws blood to the surface making it worse. ******* on small bits of crushed ice, with sips of hot water in between can often dilate the blood vessels enough to alleviate the migraine.
Have you looked at her liquid intake? Sometimes a simple lack of pure water is enough to bring on persistant migrain type headaches.
Edit:
Olbas oil is pungently strong and given her condition, would likely make her headache worse. I don’t advise it at all.
Some say Lavender oil helps alleviate headaches, but again I would caution, as too much will be overbearing on the already sensitive condition and make matters worse.
